01/22/09-I haven't been very faithful about keeping up with my blogging. I find that I never have the time because I am always under one personal or professional dead line or another, and with the holidays passing I found myself even more lethargic than ever. I always find the holidays to be depressing and the week between Christmas and New Years to be very painful still. Will it ever stop hurting?

I decided that I really needed to take a break from it all and spend more quality time with myself playing the acoustic guitar simply for the enjoyment, and learning new chords on the keyboard, 7ths, 11ths, diminished 9ths… etc…to try and work a new language into my songs and instrumentals. I have also been taking short road trips simply to get out of the studio change the scenery.

I approached recording this past year in a much more organic way. I would let ideas come without doing any mental editing…I would let lyrics flow no matter how lame they sounded at the time. I didn't take a long time to record. Many tracks were recorded "on the fly" I would then keep as much of the original idea as I couldv as the song progressed. This seemed to be a good solution to mixing things up a bit and hopefully resulted in a less stale sound. Of course, these are all just tricks to trick myself.

I have so many new tracks to upload. I will be doing this over the next week. Til then.

I haven't been very good about posting all the new music I have completed, but plan on getting to it this week…so listen for new stuff….

Again…the new material is that which is closest to the "bottom" of the page under genre or mood.

Cheers!

Greg Adams is an artist who endlessly refines his work through composing and recording. Each new song is both an advance and a consolidation of what has gone before.

After living many years in Los Angeles, and falling under the spell of its many vibes, textures and sounds, it is no wonder this musical landscape flows throughout his work.
From eerie pulsing electronic rhythms to sensual atmospheric sounds, one is always aware of these hybrid influences captured by this mature artist.

Greg's talent lies in his ability to write and merge musical styles from rock, dance, and trip hop, to orchestral pieces; creating the many moods which define his artistic signature.

His composing skills create marvelously textured scores that can define and propel a story and capture the mood required for any film or television project.
